After the recent complete redesign, we are pretty sure that not many changes will occur in the next few years. This refers to the 2023 Chevy Tahoe as well, which will represent the third production year of the current generation. By Chevy’s standards, that’s too early for a mid-cycle update, so the only things we could see are minor tweaks, regarding features, colors etc. Also, there is always room for some special version.
With updates on without, the 2023 Chevy Tahoe will remain largely the same vehicle, which has a lot of great things to offer. We like its capable engines, as well as the impressive amount o passenger and cargo space. Furthermore, the list of standard and available features is pretty long, while the ride quality is good. Practically, the only thing we could complain about is the choice of some interior materials, which are slightly cheaper than you would probably expect.
Considering that this model year probably won’t bring significant updates, we presume that the launch date will be scheduled for the second half of 2022.
2023 Chevy Tahoe Redesign
When it comes to base design characteristics, the 2023 Chevy Tahoe will definitely remain the same. This SUV has just been redesigned and this overhaul has brought a lot of improvements. There is a new T1 platform, which made this SUV significantly lighter. The ride quality is much better and one of the reasons is the standard independent rear suspension. The recent redesign has also brought big novelties regarding styling, so the only possible changes we could see are new color options, or maybe some new appearance package.
Rumors about some special versions of Tahoe aren’t a new thing, so we should mention them as well. This particularly refers to the high-performance version, which would come with the famous “SS” badge, allegedly.
Interior
This aspect shouldn’t bring any notable change. We expect to see the 2023 Chevy Tahoe in a familiar layout, with a cabin that has so many good things to offer. This particularly refers to interior space, which is impressive. First of all, there are three generous rows of seats. For the first time, the Tahoe features a third row that accommodates adults with ease. The front seats are spacious and we particularly like the driving position, which is high and ensures good visibility in all directions.
The cargo area offers impressive numbers – 25.5 cubic feet of space behind the third row, 72.6 cubic feet behind the second row, and a total of 122.9 cubic feet in total.
When it comes to the overall quality, things are good. However, there are few areas with low-rent materials, which isn’t something we would expect in a vehicle of this size and price. Still, that’s far from critical and we have no doubt that a vast majority of drivers will like how this SUV looks and feels from the inside.
Feature
Yearly updates usually bring a couple of new things to the list of standard and available features. The 2023 Chevy Tahoe should come with some of them too, but we don’t expect to see anything significant. Most of the things should remain the same.
For reference, the current model comes standard with goodies like tri-zone climate control, remote start, a 10.2-inch touch screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, six USB ports, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a six-speaker sound system, satellite radio, and HD Radio. Additionally, you can get goodies like a panoramic sunroof, navigation, a rear-seat entertainment system with two 12.6-inch touch screens and Wi-Fi capability, wireless device charging, and a nine-or 10-speaker Bose stereo.
The same thing is with safety features. The current model comes standard with goodies like rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, the following distance indicator, forward automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and GM’s Teen Driver.
2023 Chevy Tahoe Engines
The powertrain lineup will certainly remain the same, which means you may count on three familiar engine options on the offer. Base models come with a 5.3-liter V8 engine, which puts out around 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. Also, you can get an upgrade, in the form of a 6.2-liter V8 engine, which puts out around 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Finally, there is a capable 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel, which puts out 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
All three engines come in pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission. When properly equipped, this SUV can tow up to 8.000 pounds.
2023 Chevy Tahoe Release Date and Price
Since there are significant changes to come, we presume that the 2023 Chevy Tahoe will arrive in a typical time, sometime in the second half of 2022. Bigger price changes aren’t expected either, so the base version should be available at around 50.000 dollars. Key competitors are models like Ford Expedition, Toyota Sequoia, Nissan Armada etc.
