2023 BMW X6 Facelift: Changes, Interior, Release Date

The current generation of BMW’s first coupe crossover has been around for a while and we expect to see some updates for the next year. Just like the more conventional sibling, the X5, this model will also receive a facelift and from what we can see, the updates will be pretty comprehensive. The test mule has already been spotted and it shows a nice portion of camouflage. So, we expect a lot of styling updates but that won’t be the only novelties for the 2023 BMW X6.

The next year’s model will also come with important updates on the inside. We are about to see a new dashboard design, with new aesthetics and new tech features. Furthermore, big changes are coming under the hood as well. The base inline-six should get a significant power upgrade, while the V8 should get a new mild-hybrid setup. Finally, the M model might get some power boost as well.

Despite the numerous updates, the 2023 BMW X6 probably won’t come much earlier than usual, but rather sometime in the last quarter of the year.

2023 BMW X6 Design

As we’ve just mentioned, this will be a pretty comprehensive update. The first thing that comes to mind is the styling and if we consider that the test mule wears lots of camouflage, it’s quite obvious that the changes will be numerous. Of course, most of them will come to the front end, where we expect to see a completely new face, with a bigger grille, new headlights and a new bumper, all designed in the same way as the new X5.

The rest of the vehicle might get some updates as well. We could see some tweaks to the rear end, while we also count on typical mid-cycle updates, such as new wheels, color options and similar things. On the other hand, we don’t expect to see bigger mechanical changes. The suspension and chassis setup should remain largely the same, so we count on similar ride quality, which offers a high level of athleticism but also offers decent comfort.

Interior

Although we are still waiting to hear something from the officials, it’s pretty much for sure that the 2023 BMW X6 will bring interior updates. This particularly refers to the dashboard design, which should be significantly updated. We count on a new digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen, designed in the same way as the ones in the new all-electric iX. A few more revisions on the dash are expected as well, while we also count new materials, new color schemes etc.

On the other hand, the overall layout will remain the same, so you may count on the same seating configuration. This model comes with two rows of seats, both generous with legroom. However, the second row lacks headroom due to the sloping roof design. The front seats, on the other hand, accommodate taller passengers with ease.

2023 BMW X6 Engines

Big changes are expected under the hood as well. First of all, the base 3.0-liter inline-six will get a significant power upgrade. Instead of 335 horsepower, the max output will go up to 370hp, which will certainly positively affect the overall performance.

The M50i will be replaced with the M60i model. The key change is the addition of a small 48-volt mild-hybrid system, which should improve fuel economy and driving dynamics, even though the max output is about to remain the same. Therefore, you may count on 523 horsepower, just like in the M50i.

Finally, the M model will continue with the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8. The engine currently puts out 600 horsepower but some sources suggest the max output could go up to 630 horsepower. The officials are still quiet on this matter.

All engines will come coupled with 8-speed automatic transmission.

Features

Novelties in this aspect will certainly come. We already talked about the new digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen, but that won’t be the only novelties. Few count on a few more additions in terms of tech and safety features.

2023 BMW X6

Still, we don’t expect too many changes, considering that the current model already stands pretty well in these aspects. For example, it already comes standard with goodies like navigation, five USB ports, satellite radio, HD Radio, a 10-speaker sound system, Bluetooth, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, push-button start, proximity keyless entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a panoramic moonroof. Additionally, you can get a stereo with 16 or 20 speakers, remote start, quad-zone climate control etc.

2023 BMW X6 Release Date and Price

We expect that the 2023 BMW X6 will arrive sometime in the last quarter of the year. The starting price should go around 69.000 dollars, while models like Audi Q8 and Mercedes-Benz GLE.
