The 2022 Alfa Romeo Stelvio will represent the fifth production year of the current generation and despite the rumors, it won’t receive a mid-cycle update. Instead, it will continue in the same way, with familiar design characteristics. Practically, the biggest novelty will be the new Veloce trim level, which will replace the Ti Sport model. However, there won’t be many differences regarding features between these two.
The rest of the car is about to remain the same. You may count on a familiar design, which still has a lot of great things to offer, despite the few obvious flaws. One of the most amazing things about this SUV is handling. Despite the shape and size, it offers pretty engaging handling, on par with many sporty sedans. Of course, there is the excellent optional V6 engine with more than 500 horses, while the overall styling still looks impressive.
We expect to see 2022 Alfa Romeo Stelvio sometime in the last quarter of the year.
2022 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Redesign
The overall design definitely won’t change. We are about to see a familiar layout, which has been around since 2018. We are talking about a compact SUV, which rides on a familiar Giorgio platform, offering engaging handling and a pretty sporty ride. When it comes to the driving experience, it’s hard to find any drawback on this crossover.
The styling is also one of Stelvio’s strongest points. Not many things have changed during these four years of production but the car still looks amazing. Its sleek design combined with traditional Italian design solutions makes it one of the best-looking models in the class, despite that some of the key rivals are much younger.
The next year shouldn’t bring any bigger change. However, there is always a chance to see things like new color options and similar updates.
Changes on the inside are not expected. We are about to see a familiar cabin design, which has a lot of good things to offset. Of course, aesthetics are once again the first thing that comes to mind. The dashboard looks styling, even though it doesn’t feature the biggest and the latest infotainment screen on the market. Also, we really like the sporty front seats, which offer excellent support. The driving position is excellent.
On the other side, the interior quality could be better. Not that it’s bad, but German rivals are way superior in this aspect. Also, this cabin isn’t too practical. While the front seats are spacious and comfortable, the second row would use a little bit more room. Things are even worse regarding cargo volume. You may count on just 18.5 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 56.5 cubic feet in total. That’s below-average for the class.
As we’ve just mentioned, the new Veloce trim will be one of the biggest novelties for the next year. It replaces the Ti Sport model, but the list of features is pretty much the same. Therefore, you may count on goodies like paddle shifters, sport-tuned suspension, limited-slip differential and similar things.
When it comes to tech and convenience features, base models will continue with goodies like dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, an 8.8-inch touch screen, an eight-speaker stereo, satellite radio, Bluetooth, five USB ports, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The list of upgrades should include features like a sunroof, navigation, wireless device charging, HD Radio, a 10-speaker stereo, and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon stereo.
The 2022 Alfa Romeo Stelvio should come standard with safety features like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and rear parking sensors. Among options, we should find lane keep assist, lane departure warning, driver drowsiness monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, front parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, highway assist, traffic sign recognition, and traffic jam assist.
2022 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Engines
Changes under the hood won’t happen and the 2022 Alfa Romeo Stelvio will continue with two familiar engine options in the offer. Base models will continue with a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out around 280 horsepower and delivers pretty decent overall performance. It also features pretty decent fuel economy, which goes around 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.
Of course, you may also count on a high-performance, Quadrifoglio version, which features a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6, which puts out around 505 horsepower. As you may presume, this engine delivers superior performance but the price you have to pay is much worse fuel economy. At best, this version can return around 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.
2022 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Release Date and Price
