2021 RAM 2500 Preview: Release date, Changes, Rumors, Cummins

The current generation of RAM’s ¾-ton truck has been around for too little time to expect any significant changes. With such a fresh design, it seems natural to expect no bigger changes for the next year. The overall design will certainly remain the same, as well as most of the features. However, the company prepares a couple of interesting novelties, particularly in terms of new “Editions” versions. The first one will be called Limited Night Edition, while the other one will celebrate 75 years of Power Wagon. Other than these two novelties, most of the 2021 RAM 2500 will remain the same.

You may count on a familiar design, which combines performances with comfort in such an amazing way. That’s the biggest quality of this truck, which comes with a luxurious cabin, excellent ride quality, capable engines and loads of latest tech goodies. As there are no significant changes to come for the next year, we expect to see it sometime late in the year.

What’s New For 2021?

As we’ve just mentioned, RAM will bring two new versions for the next year. Those would be special editions and the first one will be called Limited Night Edition. As you may presume, this model will be mostly about visual upgrades. You may count on a lot of monochrome details, with lots of blacked parts including the grille, 20-inch wheels and lots of badges. The company says this version will be offered in the RAM 3500 model as well.

When it comes to the other one, it will celebrate 75 years of the legendary Power Wagon. Of course, this version will be heavily based on the capable off-roader, but you may count on a couple of exclusive details as well. Of course, we will see a lot of “75 Anniversary” badges all around the pickup, as well as in two exclusive colors – Anvil/Diamond Black and Orange/Diamond Black. Furthermore, you may count on things like rock rails from MOPAR, special grille insert, and bead-lock capable wheels.

2021 RAM 2500 Redesign

Despite the novelties, the overall design remains the same. This means you may count on a good-looking pickup truck, which combines comfort and working capabilities in such a nice fashion. This model offers some of the best performances in the class but also comes with link coil rear suspensions, which is a class-exclusive feature that ensures an impressive level of comfort for a pickup truck.

Visually, the new generation takes inspiration from the standard light duty 1500 model. It features a pretty similar front end and the overall shape, though everything comes in a bolder and more rugged manner. The next year won’t bring any changes other than the aforementioned special editions.

Interior

Once again, there are no bigger changes to come for the next year. The 2021 RAM 2500 will carry on with the same cabin design, which is arguably the best-looking among HD pickup trucks. The overall layout is really impressive, whether it’s about quality or aesthetics. The dashboard is particularly attractive and loads of standard and available tech goodies make it look even more opulent. Materials are mostly soft to the touch and very fine across the whole cabin.

Of course, the truck comes in different truck configurations, while the list of standard and available features is really long. Base models come standard with goodies like  Bluetooth, a USB port and a 5-inch touchscreen, while the list of options is really impressive. Some of the available upgrades are goodies are 8- and 12-inch touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, LED lighting, a 115-volt power outlet, power-folding auto-dimming mirrors, parking sensors, dual-zone automatic climate control, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, navigation and many more.

2021 RAM 3500 Engines

Things under the hood definitely won’t change for the next year. You may count on a familiar engine offer, which includes two units, one gasoline and one diesel-powered. The former is a well-known 6.4-liter HEMI V8 gasoline engine, which puts out around 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes in pair with 8-speed automatic transmission.

On the other side, there is an optional 6.7-liter turbodiesel, which puts out around 370 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque. In this case, the power is sent via a six-speed automatic gearbox.

2021 RAM 3500 Release Date and Price

We expect to see 2021 RAM 3500 sometime late in the year, with the base price around 34.000 dollars. Of course, key competitors are Ford F-250 and Chevy Silverado 2500HD.
