These days, the original Syclone, which dates from the early 90s, is a true legend. Many consider it an ultimate pickup truck, which packs sports car performance in such a rigid body style. Obviously, the is a huge amount of nostalgia and there is no doubt that a huge number of enthusiasts would love to same the same approach in a modern, much more refined package. Fortunately, the solution comes from the SVE (Special Vehicle Engineering), in the form of 2021 GMC Syclone.
From what we know so far, this will be a significantly upgraded version of GMC Canyon. You may count on lots of new styling details, mechanical upgrades and similar things. Also, you may count on a monstrous 750-hp V8 engine, something that wasn’t available even in the original model. Unfortunately, not a large number of enthusiasts will be able to get this truck, and that’s not because of the model’s high price tag.
2021 GMC Syclone Engine
One of the most interesting things about the 2021 GMC Syclone will be its engine. We are about to see a Canyon with a V8 engine. The SVE used GM’s familiar 5.3-liter V8 but did some significant revisions. Some of the highlights are things like a forged twisted steel crankshaft, forged H-beam rods, forged aluminum pistons, and modified heads, plus head and main studs from ARP.
As a result, you get an impressive amount of power, which counts all-away up to 750 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. The company still didn’t come up with figures in terms of performances of this super truck, but we have no doubt that some info will come up with some numbers in the near future.
2021 GMC Syclone Exterior
Besides impressive performances, this truck will also come with significant styling upgrades. As you may presume, the new 2021 GMC Syclone will closely resemble the original model. Of course, we are still talking about a typical Canyon layout, but upgraded with a lot of body parts. First of all, everything will be blacked, including the wheels, which will come in a combination with red brake calipers. The rims also resemble the ones that can be found on the original. Of course, we count on a lot of badging around the truck, including the “Syclone” lettering on the tailgate. The 2021 GMC Syclone will come exclusively in a Double Cab/Short Bed configuration.
Interior
Of course, interior upgrades are about to come as well. From what we know so far, the new truck will be available in two interior colors. We are talking about standard leather upholstery, which will be available in Black and Cocoa Dune colors. Also, you may count on different stitching colors in the offer.
2021 GMC Syclone Release Date and Price
We expect that the 2021 GMC Syclone will become available early in the next year. From what we know so far, the price will go around 80.000 dollars. However, a high price tag won’t be the only reason why not a big number of enthusiasts will be able to get this supertruck. Allegedly, SVE will make just 50 units. Also, drivers from California should know that this tuned engine won’t be able to meet local emission standards.
